Here are 2 ways to feel less stressed in your home.
Happy Fall! Fall is the perfect season to create wellness within your home, life, and body. What are your values and how do they align with your priorities? What do you want to create? Let's start inside and work our way out.
Hi Friends! I just wanted to share a quick tip that has really made a difference in our household. We call it the 2 Minute Tidy. It's all about simple steps:)
Words and the meaning we assign to them can be really tricky, especially in the English language. The power of words can make us feel fabulous and ready to take on the world or make us feel like we've been run over by a train.
The two words I want to focus on today are declutter and simplify. The word declutter can scare people. You want me to do what? If the word declutter sounds too daunting, and you feel tired or overwhelmed before you even get started, then choose another word that makes you feel energized and alive.
Personally, I love the word declutter! Give me some boxes and bags and I'll fill them at a moments notice. If you're a person who doesn't like the word declutter or you feel a negative charge around it, change it to simplify. I have a sign in my house with the word simplify on it. I bought it in 2007 before I was even on my quest to simplify. Usually our soul knows what we need years before we are even aware of it.
The word simplify to me feels light, happy, and relaxed. It allows me to be able to take a deep breath. The pictures that come to mind when I think of that word are a clear table, knowing where my keys are, a made bed, laundry put away, healthy food in my refrigerator, and traveling light with only my favorites.
If a word doesn't resonate with you choose a word that motivates you and makes you want to get up and feel inspired. Half of the things that make us not want to do something is the language we are using in our heads to ourselves that no one else hears. That's usually where the sabotage starts. Maybe it's a word or phrase you've said to yourself a thousand times. Next time you hear that familiar voice just simply notice and then replace it with a new word that is more empowering.
I'd love if you'd share a word that trips you up before you even get started and let's brainstorm a new word that inspires and energizes you from the very beginning. Or leave me a comment and tell me how you've changed a repeating word or phrase that used to set you back and what you've done to move forward in a more positive way. Here's to creating a life you love and the words we say to ourselves!
